Misa Harada is a celebrated Japanese milliner and Royal College of Art graduate, who began her hat-making career in 1998 after designing for the British Royal Family. Renowned for fusing functionality with ornate elegance, she promotes hats for every occasion with her accessible couture-inspired designs. Her creations have graced stars like Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Jennifer Aniston, and The Rolling Stones, and appeared in productions such as ‘Sex and the City.’
Misa has collaborated with Thierry Mugler, Yohji Yamamoto, and Bora Aksu, and her work has been featured at prestigious venues, including the V&A in the UK and the Pola Museum of Art in Tokyo, as well as in British and German Vogue. Bespoke pieces for Cara Delevingne and iconic Tatler covers with Cindy Crawford are among her highlights. As a founding member of the British Hat Guild, Misa is dedicated to craftsmanship, sustainability, and innovation—using recycled materials and offering a ‘Hat for Life’ repair scheme. All hats are handcrafted in Cardiff by a small team, using local U.K. suppliers.
Her recent projects include bespoke headpieces for Beyoncé’s 2023 Renaissance tour. Misa Harada’s collections are stocked in more than 100 outlets across 15 countries.
